National Gas partners with The B1M to showcase the hidden hero of the energy system

Ever wondered where the gas that keeps the lights on and fuels major industries comes from?

It’s more than just a utility—it’s the backbone of our power grids and essential industries. We teamed up with The B1M, including the legendary Fred Mills, to bring you a behind-the-scenes look at Britain’s National Transmission System. With almost 5,000 miles of pipes across Britain that connects half a million businesses and 23 million homes, we travel the length of the country in this mini documentary to share the hidden engineering behind our gas transmission system, and how the system might evolve in the future.

From jet engines in National Gas’ Peterborough facility that power the nation’s gas flow, to our crucial Bacton site, a key connection point with continental Europe, this video delves deep into the unseen gas transmission infrastructure that keeps the Britain running. But it’s not just about what’s happening now; it’s about where we’re heading.

As the world moves towards cleaner energy, Britain is at the forefront of this transition. At our test facility at DNV Spadeadam, discover how existing gas assets are being repurposed for hydrogen, a greener alternative that could revolutionise our energy future. With exclusive interviews and on-site footage, this documentary showcases how these pioneering projects are not just theoretical—they’re happening right now, setting the stage for a sustainable energy future.

Don’t miss this behind-the-scenes look at the system that power our lives and the groundbreaking work that’s paving the way for a greener tomorrow. Watch the full video now here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eKsaGqUfvI
