Welcoming Paul Monks to Peterborough Compressor Station: A Step Towards a Sustainable Energy Future

Welcoming Paul Monks to Peterborough Compressor Station: A Step Towards a Sustainable Energy Future

We were delighted to host Paul Monks, Chief Scientific Adviser at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, along with several officials, at our Peterborough Compressor Station.

This visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the crucial role that Peterborough plays in maintaining the energy security of the gas National Transmission System (NTS).

Our team, including Nick Sides, Corinna Jones, Terry Hayes, Ffion Davies-Cale, Dave Everitt, Chantelle Lawson, Jake Tudge, and Katy Recina, delivered an insightful overview of the NTS and highlighted the station’s importance both now and in the future. As we look ahead, Peterborough will be central to our transition to new technologies, such as hydrogen blending and 100% hydrogen, which are vital for delivering energy security and achieving our net-zero goals.

During the visit, we were also proud to share our ongoing efforts to reduce emissions at the site, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and innovation. The discussions on the future of hydrogen transmission further underscored our dedication to exploring and implementing solutions that will help meet the Britain’s energy needs in a more sustainable way.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and advancing our shared goals of energy security and sustainability.
