Market Change

Find out about the work of our Market Change Delivery team, which develops, negotiates and implements changes related to commercial contracts.

The Market Change team at National Gas has three distinct roles:

  • The Delivery team is responsible for developing existing Network Codes which govern the ways in which the gas National Transmission System (NTS) is managed and funded.
  • The Charging team is responsible for setting and publishing the prices applicable for using the gas transmission network.
  • The Development team works to shape policy and to bring forward new and innovative options to help National Gas achieve its net zero goals.
Market Delivery team: what we do

The Market Delivery team develops, negotiates and implements changes related to commercial contracts, notably the Uniform Network Code, which underpin the UK gas regime.

We aim to support the continued transformation of the market by delivering greater value for consumers. We do this by collaborating with all interested customers and stakeholders; driving innovation and applying our regulatory and commercial expertise to enable the continued evolution of the market towards net zero.

We also work closely with our partners across Europe to ensure our networks remain compatible and harmonised with those across the EU and beyond. This helps to maintain trading opportunities and ensure security of supply.
