National Gas publishes 2025 Gas Summer Outlook

National Gas has published this year's Gas Summer Outlook.
The Outlook forecasts supply and demand over the summer period. Our forecasts show demand for gas in Great Britain is expected to be slightly lower when compared to the previous summer, due to small reductions demand from Industrial and Commercial (I&C), and power.
Total National Transmission System (NTS) demand is forecast to be higher, as we anticipate increased exports to continental Europe where storage levels are lower compared to last year. The majority of supply required to fill EU storage will come from LNG, supplemented by imports from Great Britain.
We are undertaking maintenance activities across our network this summer, to ensure that our network is ready for the winter ahead.
At National Gas, we are confident in the network’s ability to meet demand and continue to deliver reliable gas, supported by a diverse range of energy sources. This is our number one priority, and we will closely monitor for any activities that could impact supply for Great Britain and Europe.
All of this is set out in our 2025 Gas Summer Outlook report here and our summary document here.
