People and culture
Diversity and Inclusion
We want National Gas Metering to be an employer of choice for people from any background. That means openly encouraging diversity and creating an inclusive workplace where everyone is valued for their unique contribution.
Diversity makes us stronger
National Gas Metering is dedicated to building a workforce that reflects the rich diversity of our society. We want to have people with different identities, backgrounds and experiences represented and celebrated in our workplace. We recognise and value the benefits that this wide range of expertise, perspectives, working styles and cultures brings to our decision making, our service delivery and our performance as a business.
Opportunities for everyone to thrive
Inclusion means that everyone has the same opportunities to thrive and to contribute to our business. We value the contributions of every colleague, and we want people to feel safe and able to be themselves at work. We want all our colleagues to feel that they belong at National Gas Metering – to feel accepted, celebrated and connected with our organisation.
A culture of continuous improvement
We believe our employees know best when it comes to improving our workplace for everyone. That’s why we have established a Metering Engagement Group (MEG), which provides a forum for employees from each part of the business to discuss and implement their thoughts, suggestions and ideas. Its remit covers everything from employee health and wellbeing to community engagement and learning and development.
Listening to our colleagues
We capture the views, ideas and concerns of our colleagues through a variety of surveys and engagement activities. These include online mental health and wellbeing surveys and our Employee NPS (eNPS) survey, which helps us to identify key themes and engagement objectives. We also hold Virtual Town Halls regularly, where employees can raise concerns directly with leadership.
