CGI team support the Children's Book Project charity
October 2026
This week, the Commercial Growth and Innovation team stepped away from their desks and spent the day supporting the incredible work of the Children's Book Project, a charity dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to books they can enjoy, own and read at home.
The Children's Book Project rescues and redistributes new and used children's books, giving them a second life in the hands of children who may otherwise have limited access to reading materials. Their mission is simple but powerful: to tackle book poverty and inspire a love of reading by providing children with books they can choose, treasure and take home.
Our team spent the day sorting, organising and packing books ready for distribution to schools and community groups. It was a hands-on day that gave a real insight into the scale of the charity's work and the difference something as simple as a book can make to a child's development, confidence and imagination.
Together, they packed more than 2,000 books, helping to ensure that 1,037 children will each receive two books to read and keep over the coming months.
While the numbers are impressive, what stood out most was the impact behind them. Every box packed represented an opportunity for a child to discover a new story, spark their imagination and develop a lifelong love of reading.
A huge thank you to the Children's Book Project team for welcoming us and for the fantastic work they do every day to make books accessible to children across the UK.
We were proud to play a small part in supporting such an important cause.
